¡¡Happy Chinese New Year! ¡¡ ¡¡ 2008 CHINESE LANGUAGE CLASSES CALL FOR ENROLMENTS ¡¡ Earn points for your university entrance while studying a Chinese language course at ASCC Australian School of Contemporary Chinese (ASCC), formerly traded as Standard Chinese School of Australia (SCSA), is an accredited and registered Specialist Education Provider in ACT community. It caters Chinese language classes for school-aged children including Prep, Primary, Secondary and College students and adults as well. The school is recognised at Year 12 and Australian universities recognise its test results via University Admission Index (UAI). The school seeks to serve as a centre for learning Chinese language and culture in an Australian context. It strives for:
The Chinese programs in ASCC are developed and implemented under the Guideline of Curriculum and Standard Framework in Australian schools and that of Teaching China as Foreign Language stipulated by China Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban) in Beijing, together with school-based curriculum development and management. The combined most updating teaching materials, such as Standard Chinese (Bilingual & 2nd Edition), Chinese Made Easy for Kids, Han Yu, Ni Hao and My Mother Tongue are adopted as primary and supplementary materials. The dynamic preschoolers¡¯ classes intake children at age of 4, sometimes maybe 3 depend on their readiness to start learn another language as early as possible. While most of the students are attending the emersion Chinese classes in a Chinese-speaking environment, Bilingual Chinese classes are specially designed for those who would like to study Chinese with English speaking backgrounds. Those who have English, international family background or adopted children with Chinese origins are suitable for this class. At Year 11 & 12, students may enrol as Beginners, Continuing or Advanced levels according to their language backgrounds. The school-aged Chinese classes are operated during ACT government school terms with a group of qualified, experienced and responsible teachers for teaching at different levels. An obligation free trial lesson is offered for those who are interested in these classes but not sure which classes you will enrol. The school will start on 9:30 am ¨C 12:30 noon, 2 February 2008 (Saturday) at Melrose High School, Marr Street, Pearce, ACT 2607 and 9:30 am ¨C 12:30 noon, 3 February 2008 (Sunday) at Lake Ginninderra College, Belconnen, ACT 2617. Adults Chinese Classes in ASCC Australian School of Contemporary Chinese (ASCC), also trading as Chinese Language Centre of Australia (CLCA), provides Chinese language classes specially designed for adults in ACT. The programs are one of the leading community language programs operated in Australia as well. The Chinese programs for adults in ASCC are developed under the Guideline of the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) and the Guideline of Teaching Chinese as Foreign Language stipulated by China Office of Chinese Language Council International in Beijing. Adult Chinese classes provide learning opportunity for adults who have interests in learning the language in a flexible, structured and practical way to meet the needs of academic, employment, career, business or for fun. The classes are classified into Beginner, Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced levels. The classes characterised with structured teaching based upon the combined most updated publications in learning Chinese language recommended in Beijing. The textbooks that we are using for adult Chinese classes are New Practical Chinese Reader as primary resource and Great Wall Chinese as supplementary materials. The teaching materials for the six month program titled Olympic Chinese is Basic Chinese 100 for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games -- a specially published textbook recommended by the China National Office of Chinese Language Council International in Beijing and Beijing Organising Committee for the XXIX Olympiad. New material Chinese (Hanyu) 2008 for short course is available too. While the classes for adults comprehensively cover reading, writing, listening and speaking, the conversation do prioritise in classroom activities. These classes are open to everyone who has interest in learning Chinese language. Obligation free trial lesson is offered prior to enrolment.
