The 2nd CPFA Photographic Exhibition in 2011

Purpose

To celebrate both the Year of Chinese Culture in Australia and National Multicultural Festival in 2011 and as an on-going display of the photographic work of our members associated with those invited locally, domestically and internationally, CPFA is organizing a photo exhibition in May 2011.

Rules and Regulations

Members who are keen to submit their photo images must adhere to the following CPFA Rules and Regulations:

1. Entry must be the original work of the member photographer. Copied or reproduced from works by other people are not accepted.

2. The main theme of the exhibition is the 2nd Photographic Exhibition of CPFA to celebrate both the Year of Chinese Culture in Australia and as extended activities of National Multicultural Festival in 2011. Works that are relevant to this main theme will be considered first. Other works are also be considered under special circumstances to the total entries for the exhibition.

The following adjustments are allowed:

a. Colour, sharpness and contrast adjustments that affect the entire picture in the same manner (B&W conversion is okay); and

b. Cropping and straightening; Basic digital image enhancements and minor cropping (not more than 1/4 of image area) are acceptable for all themes.

With the exception of the above, no other “Photoshop” editing is accepted. This means no borders, signatures, selective colour or shading adjustments including post vignetting etc and no multi-images.

All submission must state clearly the photographer’s real name, title of the work or place of the photo. A brief introduction of the work is optional.

Maximum number of submissions per member is 5.

All images submitted can be in monochrome, colour or combination of both.

All photos should be of a minimum of A4 and maximum A3 in size and properly framed.

Members are responsible for mounting their own photos for the exhibition.

Members can mark their work for sale or not for sale.

Normally we ask people who are participating in the exhibition to pay AUD$50 dollars for members living in Australia and AUD$100 for members living overseas. The fee is to cover expenses incurred for administration, hiring venue, handling and so on.

For this exhibition only, due to its special significance, there will be no entry fee for the members who are participating in the exhibition, but if a piece of work is sold, 30% of the sold price should be paid to CPFA to cover the cost of the exhibition.

All copyrights remain with the member photographer but CPFA reserves the rights to exhibit selected photo images.

The cost for returning photos will bear on the applicants and CPFA do not store photos displayed

All submissions signify the acceptance of the above rules and regulations of the exhibition. While all possible care will be taken to ensure the quality of the entries, CPFA assume no responsibility for any loss or damage to the entries before, during and/or after the exhibition.

CPFA reserve the rights to amend the rules and regulations as and when deemed necessary.
